ABOUT MONA

"That Familiar Voice from the Lehigh Valley..."

Mona Rodriguez is the author of "HURT...Hope Understanding Reaches Truth" a stunning poetry book that readers are raving about.. She is the creator, producer, and director of the limited edition cd "Wildflower-The Benefit Project"; which boasts performances by Grammy winning artists with all proceeds from its sales donated to Women in Art in Pennsylvania (www.wiaipa.org), currently an information referral organization according to its founder.  WIAIPA specializes in Domestic Violence and Abuse Awareness; they foster art exploration, and provide aid to other organizations that strive to strengthen the community. Mona is an amateur film maker. She has been a member of  NARAS (The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences), known to most for its Grammy Awards. She has also been the host of the gender specific "Assorted Women" show on the Lehigh Valley's #1 NPR station WDIY 88.1FM (www.wdiy.org) for several years.  Far from the pun of "a sordid woman"; Mona's show has continually had a positive impact on the local and national community at large and is ever-growing in popularity.  She is one of the most respected on-air talents in the Broadcasting business, addressing current events and controversial issues.  Mona's celebrity interviews and live performances, as well as, great music from past and present legendary artists has put her show on level with most commercial radio stations.  Mona has been instrumental in breaking international and local talent to an audience that regard her as one of the most influential, up and coming voices in radio today.  With an open-door policy and without taking sides (which alleviates the drama surrounding most opinionated programs), she provides a forum for all ages to share their personal views on matters that affect people around the world, along with an opportunity to experience a behind the scenes look into the world of broadcasting.  It is that same open-door policy that lends to the unscripted experience of her show  of each week.

Finally, Mona is one of the most approachable people you will meet; often she is quoted as saying "If you see me somewhere, introduce yourself or at least say hello- I don't bite."  We are thankful for all of your continued support and that you've taken the time to read about her.  We hope that you  have an opportunity to tune into one of her shows if you haven't already and invite you to call in or email her when she's on the air (
Sat.@6:30pm est.). There's a WDIY post on the Links page of this website.  Remember, her open-door policy and always feel free to contact us.  Best wishes, and good health to all!
